J-Up’s grand slam sends Braves past Dodgers 8-5 in series opener

After falling behind 4-2, J- Up provided Maholm all the support he’d need to claim a 8-5 victory. His grand slam (14) proved a big blow in the bottom of the 6th. The bullpen did the rest. Kimbrel picked up save #12 in the 9th.

Notes: Hope Jonny Venters has a speedy recovery after undergoing his 2nd Tommy John surgery. He will be missed:( Braves go for the series win tomorrow night.

Hudson struggles in AZ; Braves fall 5-3

Freeman plated all three Brave runs, but Atlanta couldn’t get anymore. Hudson was plagued by a four-run 5th. Since starting the season 12-1, Atlanta has gone 10-17. Not good. Changes need to be made. Uggla and B.J. Upton should be traded. Get rid of the manager too. This team has too much talent to be only four games over .500

Theran takes tough- luck loss; Braves shut out 2-0

Julio Theran didn’t pitch that badly, but the offense gave him no run support. Braves managed only four hits. Given our struggles of late, we’re fortunate to still be in first place. Hudson goes for the series win in Wednesday’s rubber game.

The offense finally got in gear Monday night, totaling 10 runs on 13 hits. McCann (3), J up (13), and Chris Johnson (3,4) all homered. Up to this point, Atlanta has definitely got the better end of the J-Up/Prado trade. Let’s win another one tonight.

For the second straight day, the offense didn’t show up. Two Justin Upton fielding miscues opened up the floodgates. Hopefully we can salvage a series split tomorrow afternoon.

After an early seesaw battle that saw McCann and Posey hit 2-run HR’s for their respective teams, Atlanta put away SF with a four-run 5th. RBI singles by Freeman and B.J. Upton provided the big blow.

Theran pitched a solid game, going 7 IP and only allowing 3 runs. Kimbrel reached a milestone in the 9th by picking up his 100th save. Hudson looks to continue the Braves’ win streak tomorrow night.

Uggla’s 2 HR’s, Francisco’s slam soar Braves past Reds 7-2

Uggla hit two solo HR’s (5,6) to vanquish an early 1-0 Cincinnati lead, and Francisco gave the team much-needed breathing room with his 1st career grand slam (5) as part of a five-run eighth. Nice bounce back game after yesterday’s fiasco.

What is going on with Kimbrel???? Another blown save. I am disgusted right now. Braves waste Medlen’s good game. We shouldn’t have lost this game. We were an out away from winning. This one hurts.
